Save the Memory: Community Center Offers VHS Transfers to DVD

All proceeds from transfers support equipment and operational improvements at WayCAM, your local access station.

How many VHS tapes do you have stacked under your TV on the shelf? Most have many, jammed with family trips, skits you've performed, graduations. It's all there - sitting - because who has a VHS player plugged in anymore?

The Wayland Community Media Center (WayCAM) is offering a chance to transfer your VHS tapes to DVD, for a simple contribution.

  • For a $60.00 contribution you can choose EP, which is extended playback for a DVD. (Good quality content, will provide up to 6 hours of content playback).
  • For a $40.00 contribution you can choose LP, which is long playback for a DVD. (Better quality content, will provide up to 4 hours of content playback).
  • For a $20.00 contribution you can choose SP, which is standard playback for a DVD. (Best quality content, will provide up to 2 hours of playback).
The center can also transfer a digital camera's video to DVD: Super 8 tapes, CF Cards, SD cards, Micro SD cards & hard drive of camera.  That contribution is $20 per hour of play.

All proceeds from transfers support equipment and operational improvements at WayCAM, your local access station.

Do you still use a VHS player? Do you have a lot of tapes?
