PHOTOS: Latest Update from Pelham Island Bridge Project

Wayland's newest bridge has definitely taken shape over the Sudbury River.

Pelham Island resident Gary Slep has spent the past several months keeping his neighbors up to date on the progress of the bridge over the Sudbury River.

Slep's latest images show that the one-lane "temporary" bridge of the past is a distant memory and a new, architecturally lovely arched bridge has taken its place.

The contractor on the project has been working toward a goal of reopening the bridge in late November. Slep said in his latest report that there "really is a light at the end of this 'tunnel.'"

Slep said that he expects utility and road work to continue this month.
