Nearby Commuter Rail Station Bridge Undergoing Repairs

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be conducting repairs on the bridge.

By Ryan Grannan-Doll

Starting Monday, motorists should seek alternate routes around the Merriam Street bridge in Weston.

The bridge is located at the Silver Hill commuter rail station, but the commuter rail will continue to operate throughout the repairs.

Wayland commuters who utilize the commuter station should be aware of the following detours: Traffic on the south side of Merriam Street will be rerouted to Conant Road via North Avenue. Traffic going north will be sent to Conant Road via Boston Post Road. Only local traffic will be allowed onto Merriam Street.

The bridge will remain closed until Sept. 30. Construction on the bridge will be restricted to overnight and weekend hours in order to provide the least possible disruption to commuter traffic. The rail stop remain open and accessible from the North Avenue side of Merriam Street.
