Islamic Center in Wayland Holding Ramadan Services, Events

The holiest month in the Islamic faith—Ramadan—will take place from July 9 through Aug. 8, 2013, according to the Fiqh Council of North America.

The month of Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is recognized and practiced around the world for 28 to 30 days every year.

It is one of the five pillars of Islam and is known to be month of reflection and complete submission to Allah (God). 

In Wayland, the Islamic Center of Boston has developed a Ramadan Information page and will hold a number of special events and services throughout the month, beginning with the first Tarawih prayers at the ICB on Monday, July 8, at 10:15 p.m.

Saturday iftar (breaking of the fast) and dinner will be held on the following days:
- July 13, 2013
- July 20, 2013
- July 27, 2013
- Aug. 3, 2013

Registration for these events is required and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Email iftaar@icbwayland.org with the date you plan to attend, your name, contact information and the number of adults and children (with ages) that will attend. Or register online at ICB-Iftaar-Registration.
