Instead of a dull, dry introductory post, I will share some boring and less boring facts about myself.
1. I’m a Vermont native who grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and graduated from the 2001 class of Newton North High School.

2. My mother’s cousin, Julann Wright, invented the concept for Jeopardy. She was married to the show’s creator, the late Merv Griffin.
3. I have been a local reporter for six years. I started with Stonebridge Press in Central Massachusetts covering several communities in Worcester County before launching Waltham Patch in 2010.
4. I have covered a wide range of stories including murders, fires and local government. Strangely enough, I once wrote a story about a woman who lost her cockatiel, whom she believed was a reincarnation of her deceased brother.
5. I am happy to be taking over Wayland Patch and look forward to meeting the community.
