5 Things: Several Meetings, Tisha B'Av, Wayland's First Firefighters

A few things you need to know on Monday, July 15, 2013 in Wayland.

1. Ma'yan Tikva invites individuals to recognize the fast day of  Tisha B'Av with a viewing of "Chasing Ice" and a conversation about Lamentations and the modern experience of grieving. RSVP to rabbi@mayantikvah.org for more details and location information.

2. The School Committee will meet Monday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. in executive session. The public portion of the meeting is expected to begin at 8:30 p.m.

3. The Wastewater Management District Commission will also gather, but the vast majority of the agenda will take place in executive session as discussion of pending litigation with Twenty Wayland continues. 

4. For a fully public meeting, check out the 375th Anniversary Commemoration Meeting. Members gather at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Building. The agenda is here.

5. Year of Wayland History. In 1956, Wayland got its first full-time professional firefighters -- two in Wayland and two in Cochituate.
