5 Things: Photography Exhibit, Summer Reading, Military History

A few things you need to know on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Wayland.

1. Prepare for July 4. Town, state and national offices are closed on Thursday for the July 4 holiday. If you have business at the library, city hall, post office, etc., better handle it today.

2. We mentioned in 5 things for July 2, but here it is again: The Planning Board and Design Review Board are meeting this morning at 8 a.m.

3. Arts/Wayland is currently featuring photographs in the Raytheon Room at the Wayland Public Library. In honor of Wayland's 375th anniversary, one wall of the exhibit is dedicated to the theme, "Wayland."

4. Speaking of the library, the summer reading program is fully underway. The teen theme is "Beneath the Surface" and the children's theme is "Dig into Reading."

5. Year of Wayland Trivia. On April 19, 1775, Sudbury sent 302 men to answer the Lexington-Concord alarm. It was the largest representation from any one town on that day.
