Photos and Recap - Wayland Observed Chinese New Year Show

Waylanders welcomed the Chinese new Year of the Horse on Saturday, Jan 25 at the high school auditorium and commons with an outstanding program of live performances, activities and lively reception with refreshments.

Hundreds enjoyed graceful harvest and rural themed ensemble dances, a rousing and electrifying neon dragon dance, Tai chi and kungfu performance sets, and a thrilling interactive three lion dance performance, with live drummer and gong highlighted the ten stage acts.  It was a show to remember - afterwards some left wishing out loud to see the same excellent and entertaining show next year.

The Chinese new year celebration was staged by the efforts of the people of the Wayland Chinese-American Association, the Wayland Parent and Teachers Organization, and the generous help of the Wayland 375 program.  Food and gifts were provided by the restaurants Sichuan Gourmet, Lotus Blossom and Water Lily of Framingham, Sudbury and Wayland respectively.  Use of the auditorium and commons were kindly provided by Wayland Public Schools.
