Malka Young has worked as a social worker in Framingham for the past 25 years and is currently the Director of Community Impacts at Jewish Family Service of Metrowest (JFSMW). In this role, Young mentors JFS professionals as they identify families with young children and work to connect them with the Jewish community and with each other. She also oversees cutting edge programs to support older adults in the community to maintain their independence, acknowledging each generation’s essential role in building and strengthening our community.

Under Young’s leadership, JFS developed Kesher 13, an intergenerational program that connects isolated Jewish elders living in community facilities with fifth grade students and their parents. Kesher 13 has been replicated across the country and earned the coveted Goodman Award for innovative Jewish Communal Services.
