Roadway Cleanup Day in Wayland
Old Connecticut Path & Rice Rd, Wayland, MA | Get Directions »
FREE
Residents are asked to help keep Wayland's roadways litter free with an all-day roadway cleanup on Saturday, April 7.
The Wayland Green Team and Cliff Kolovson are organizing the effort and recommend special attention be paid to:
-- Rice Road, especially down the hill across from the Holy Spirit Church (all along that bend)
-- Old Conn Path from Rice to Rte. 20
-- Plain Road from Rte. 20 to the old railroad tracks
-- Far end of Claypit Hill Road at Rte. 126 around the wetland area... lots of trash and liquor bottles
-- Rte. 27 from the Golf course to Water Row (slightly beyond town line).
Anywhere you're inclined to clean up is welcome. We suggest you collect recyclables in one bag and trash in another. Both can be dropped off at the Wayland Transfer Station on Saturday only between 8am and 4pm on.
NOTE: If you want to bring what you've collected to the transfer station and do not have a valid sticker, explain that you're working with the Green Team on this effort.
Please join your neighbors in a collective effort to keep our town a little cleaner and greener!

The Wayland Roadside cleans up was great fun. On my way to meet my buddies at the chosen site I spotted at least ten people with plastic bags, so people were out there, doing this.
What a mess we found at the corner of Claypit Hill Rd and Concord Rd. We pulled out a good amount from under the thorny bushes: small hard liquor bottles, large red wine bottles, soda cans, junk food wrappers. What are people thinking, throwing this out their car window?!
At the landfill the usually orange container (for trash) was loaded with black and clear bags. I wonder how many people participated? I know of at least 10.
