Wayland Town Beach to Reopen on Thursday
Beach has been closed since Monday in the wake of Lauren Astley's murder.
The Wayland Town Beach, which has been closed since Monday, will reopen Thursday morning, recreation officials said this morning.
The beach closed on Monday while a police investigation was underway in connection with the disappearance of Lauren Astley, 18, of Wayland. Astley was reported missing Sunday night, and her Jeep was found later that night parked at the beach.

The beach remained closed Tuesday and today, June 6, in support of the beach staff, many of whom are peers of Astley, said Wayland Recreation Department Program Director Valerie Comeau-Palmer.
“We are planning on reopening tomorrow (Thursday),” said Comeau-Palmer.
