Wayland Receives Fire Safety Education Grant

The release below was provided by the office of Sen. Richard Ross, who represents Wayland.

Sen. Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) and Rep. Thomas Conroy (D-Wayland) are pleased to announce that Wayland will be receiving $4,665 from this year’s Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) grant program. The funds will be used to help educate people about fire prevention and safety.

“Today, it is so important that we provide our children with the education and skills necessary to protect themselves in case of an emergency,” said Ross. “By educating children from a young age in fire prevention and safety, we are taking a very important step in ensuring that they will always be prepared.”

Conroy said, “SAFE is a great program to help young people learn the precautions they should take during a fire. I’m glad that Wayland is a recipient of this grant and that Wayland students will continue to benefit from the fire safety information taught through the SAFE program.”
