Wayland Police and Fire Log: Hurricane Irene Edition

Patch took a look at the calls that came in that were potentially related to Hurricane Irene. This log records damage and requests for help calls from Friday, Aug. 26-29.

Wayland's Joint Communication Center served as the main point of contact during Hurricane Irene as people called to report trees and wires down as well as other storm related matters. The JCC logged nearly 50 storm-related calls in addition to unrelated calls.

Specific addresses are mapped, but many log incidents were street names only without specific addresses. Those are included in the text below.

  • 361 Old Connecticut Path; Aug. 27, 3:27 p.m. - Tree down with wires.
  • 396 Old Connecticut Path; Aug. 27, 5:38 p.m. - Caller reported a transfomer had fallen.
  • 285 Commonwealth Road; Aug. 28, 6:27 a.m. - Weston Police reported a tree blocking the road.
  • 53 Concord Road; Aug. 28, 7:25 a.m. - Reported wires down.
  • 5 Concord Road; Aug. 28, 9:25 a.m. - Tree down in roadway.
