Wayland Library Offers Discount Pass to Boston Harbor Islands

The library's museum pass program has expanded to include the Boston Harbor Islands.

The Wayland Public Library's Museum Pass program offers discounts and even free admission to museums, zoos, parks and attractions throughout the Boston and Metrowest area.

And this summer that program has expanded to include the ferries servicing the Boston Harbor Islands national park area.

According a press release, the pass now available at Wayland Public Library offers a buy-one-get-one-free ticket discount to library members, with a limit of two free tickets per member per day. That means that a family of four, two adults and two children, can head to the Harbor Islands for $22 (Adult tickets are $14 and children's are $8).

The pass allows users to visit Spectacle and Georges Islands, which the press release calls the two hub islands of the park.

Spectacle offers hiking trails, a lifeguard-staffed beach, changing areas and more, while Georges Island features a Civil War-era fort, Fort Warren, complete with self-guided or park ranger-guided tours.
