Wayland Basketball Teams Are Tournament Bound

The boys earned a No. 2 seed and the girls took at No. 11 seed.

The Wayland boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are headed to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament that kicks off next week.

The boys finished the season 15-5 and earned a No. 2 seed in the MIAA North Division 3 bracket. The Warriors received a bye for the first round and will kick off their tournament run March 5 in Round 2. The boys will take on the winner of the Danvers (7) vs. Greater Lowell (10) Round 1 game.

As for the girls, they clinched a tournament bid with a win over Concord-Carlisle High School last week. They earned a No. 11 seed in the MIAA North Division 3 bracket with their 9-11 record. The girls’ will face Weston (6) in a Round 1 away game on Monday, Feb. 28.
