Get your bucket of candy ready, Wayland. There are no plans at this time to reschedule Wayland's trick-or-treating festivities.

Town Administrator Fred Turkington confirmed Tuesday afternoon that trick-or-treating is expected to take place as scheduled. This marks the second year in a row that trick-or-treating in Wayland has been put in jeopardy by freak storms. But, just like last year, Wayland isn't one to let a bit of weather get in the way of some good, ol' trick-or-treating.

A couple of things to keep in mind if you do plan to head out Wednesday evening:

- Do not approach downed power lines. There is no way to look at a wire and tell whether it is live. Assume they are live and stay back.

- Take your flashlights and glow sticks along. There will still be debris on the ground so tread carefully.

- Avoid going through people's yards and stick instead to sidewalks and driveways.

If you'd prefer to not go out Wednesday night in Wayland, there are a few local alternatives:

- The Recreation Department and Wayland Children and Parent's Association will hold their annual Halloween Parade at the Wayland Town Building on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

- Sudbury has postponed trick-or-treating until Friday, Nov. 2.

- Weston has also postponed the event until Friday, Nov. 2.
