No Reports of Weather-Related Issues in Wayland

Wayland Police and Fire Dispatch says rain is the worst of the weather so far.

 

UPDATED: 6 p.m.

Wayland Joint Communication Center (fire, police and 911) haven't recevied any weather-related calls in spite of a tornado warning that expired at 5:45 p.m.

Middlesex County, including Wayland, remains under a tornado watch and flash flood warning until 8 p.m.

UPDATED: 5:40 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for parts of Middlesex County, including the Town of Wayland.

The warning is expected to expire at 5:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service is reporting the thunderstorms heading east have a history of producing quarter-sized hail and winds up to 60 miles per hour, as well as the ability to produce a tornado.

Throught the afternoon Middlesex County, including Wayland, has been under a tornado watch.

Towns in Worcester County and other in western Massachusetts have been under numerous tornado warnings, with law enforcement in Westfield report seeing a tornado, according to WCVB and WHDH.

There is also a flash flood warning and tornado watch for Middlesex County through 8 p.m. tonight.
