(UPDATED, 5 p.m.) Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Wayland Area, June 9

Hail, strong winds being reported in line of storms heading toward Wayland.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Middlesex County, including Wayland.

At 4:24 p.m., the NWS reported Doppler radar indicated a line of severe storms capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

These storms are moving east at 50 mph.

According to WHDH, there was also a report of a funnel cloud near Amherst, but nothing has been verified.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 8 p.m.
