Selectmen Vote Recommendations on Special Town Meeting Articles

Wayland's Board of Selectmen voted their position on six of the seven articles in the Special Town Meeting Warrant.

A handful of people were on hand for a speedy Special Town Meeting Warrant hearing Thursday night.

So speedy, in fact, that selectmen spent more time discussing their own positions than residents spent asking questions during the hearing.

The voted positions are below. Selectman Joe Nolan was not in attendance:

Article Selectmen's Recommendations 1. Adopt Bylaw Re: Clearing, Grading and Protection of Specimen Trees Postpone issuing a recommendation (4-0) 2. Adopt Bylaw Re: Utility Herbicide Application (with revisions) Recommend approval (4-0) 3. Resolution Seeking Federal and State Legislation to Require Public Hearing and Approval By Board of Health for Application of Chemicals Recommend against approval (4-0) 4. Resolution to Provide More Fiscal Control Through The Voted Budget Recommend approval (4-0) 5. Adopt Bylaw: Funding OPEB Through an Individual Warrant Article Split 2-2 on whether to recommend 6. Amend Zoning Bylaw Article 18: Conservation Cluster Deelopment District to Permit Detached Units Recommend approval (4-0) 7. Resolution Seeking Federal and State Legislation to End Unfunded Mandates Take no position (4-0)
