POLL: If I Could Design Wayland Town Center ...

The project is well underway, but what do you hope it becomes?

It's been years in the making, but Wayland Town Center is at last coming to fruition.

But after all these years of wishing and hoping, we're guessing you have some thoughts about what should be included in the development.

We already know that Stop & Shop is coming ... in fact, conversation during a recent joint Board of Selectmen meeting with Sudbury revealed that the grocery intends to be "up and running" by Thanksgiving.

And we know that Wayland resident Jennifer Pearlman is circulating a petition asking the town to purchase equipment and build a playground at Town Center. Talks are also underway regarding a new senior center and library, and comments in our "What Should Be Wayland's Priority in 2012" indicated that a gathering space for families is needed in town.

So let's focus on the businesses: What if you could handpick the businesses that would occupy Wayland Town Center? Would you like to see places to eat, places to meet, places to shop or something else entirely?

Vote in our poll and tell us what you think the town most needs when it comes to businesses at Wayland Town Center. If you have a particular business in mind, or a category of business we didn't list in the poll, let us know in the comments.

Sorry this one doesn't seem to fit int he categories: a (second hand?) bookstore and coffee shop (Karma?) in one.

I love second-hand bookstores! My favorite is when you stumble upon a book with marginalia. It's like getting a history of the book through the eyes of its readers.

From the Wayland Patch Facebook page, Julia White writes, "a clothing boutique would be fun. A jewelry shop. Something interesting."

Maureen O'Brien Tarantino writes, "A good bakery would be nice."
