Laptop Security System Leads to Arrest in Home Break-In

The following information was supplied by the Wayland Police Department. Arrests and charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Wayland Police have arrested Keyon Hallman, 33, in connection with a Trout Brook Road residential break-in that occured on Nov. 15.

Hallman, of Hyde Park, Mass., is facing charges of breaking and entering during the daytime with intent to commit a felony and larceny over $250.

A police press release said Hallman turned himself in at the on Feb. 14, a week after police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

According to the police log from the day of the burglary, the victim reported that two computers and other items had been stolen.

Det. Sgt. Jamie Berger said a LoJack System installed on a stolen computer led police to the person who had received the computer. That person, in turn, told police the computer had been obtained from Hallman.

Berger said it appears that the Trout Brook Road residence was a specific target, though the sergeant did not know the capacity in which the victim and Hallman know one another.

It is possible that a second person was involved in the home break-in.
