Police Log: March 11-14, 2011

Mailbox destruction and more vehicle break-ins.

At about 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, a caller at 30 Lake Road reported mailbox vandalism. Shortly after, according to a media release, Wayland Police stopped a car on Malden Lane containing five individuals from Wayland.

In the vehicle, police also found and confiscated an aluminum baseball bat that is believed to have been used in the mailbox destruction.

The 17-year-old vehicle operator was charged with operating without a license and as a minor transporting alcohol. Police are continuing to investigate possible charges related to malicious destruction of property for the other four individuals.
