Photo Video Store Auction on Wednesday

Buyers will have early access to browse items up for auction.

The Photo Video Store in Wayland will go to auction on Wednesday, April 25 at 11 a.m.

On April 3, the for failure to pay $32,071 mostly in sales taxes.

About a week later, owners Jim and Lynn Piecewicz agreed that letting the Photo Video Store in Wayland go to auction was the most reasonable course of action given the taxes owed.

“It was a family business," Jim Piecewicz told Patch for a previous story. He and his wife purchased the store about eight years ago and are the third owners. "We may have held on a bit too long, we’re not sure. We’re sorry about this, and we were hoping for a better outcome.”

Wednesday's auction will begin at 11 a.m. at the Photo Video Store at 305 Boston Post Road. A preview of items that will be up for auction will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Bob Bliss, a spokesman with the DOR, said payment via cash or certified cash (no personal checks) will be accepted, and buyers can leave with their purchases that day or return to pick them up by noon Thursday.

Bliss also said that the DOR will not auction items owned by customers but that remain at the Photo Video Store.

The store owners have been working to return customer-owned items. Anyone who still has items at the store is invited to the auction preview to claim their items.
