UPDATE: Memorial Service and Memorial Fund for Marina Keegan

Marina Keegan's memorial service will take place June 2.

Kevin and Tracy Keegan, parents of 22-year-old Marina Evelyn Keegan, will hold a memorial service for their daughter on June 2 at 2 p.m. in Wayland.

Marina Keegan was killed Saturday, May 26, when the 1997 Lexus in which she was a passenger was involved in .

According to WaylandeNews, the memorial service for Keegan will take place at and the Keegans have issued an invitation to anyone wishing to celebrate the life of their daughter.

The Yale Daily News and New York Post both published remembrances of Keegan's life on Sunday. Keegan, who graduated from Yale University just a week ago, was an avid writer who wrote for the Yale Daily News and other publications. 

"Among the pieces of which she was most proud was this one: Even Artichokes Have Doubts in the Yale Daily News," according to WaylandeNews. "It launched a discussion across college campuses about financial careers (and resulted in a piece in the New York Times)."

Kevin and Tracy Keegan have established a fund to benefit young writers, like their daughter, at Yale College. Checks can be made payable to Yale University, Marina Keegan Memorial Fund c/o Yale University, Box 2038, New Haven CT 06521-2038.

Gifts can also be made online at www.yale.edu/give. Under “Special Instructions,” donors can choose “In Memory,” and follow the instructions.
