James J. Morrissey Jr., 74, Magician, Wayland Resident

James J. Morrissey Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2013.

Morrissey was a long-time Wayland resident and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gail Morrissey; his sons, Mark Morrissey and his wife Tracy of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Craig Morrissey of Wellesley; and his three grandchildren Ellie, Jody and Jake.

A fan of the Red Sox, sailing and Frank Sinatra, Morrissey was also a lover of magic and long-standing member of the Society of American Magicians. He was also active in the Wayland Republican Town Committee and the Sudbury Bridges Together program.

Morrissey worked as a rocket scientist for Honeywell and a variety of sales and executive roles at Data General and Motorola. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from Drexell Engineering.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street (Rte 27) in Wayland.

Private interment will follow for the family.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Morrissey's name be made to Good Shepherd Parish.
