Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 10

Wayland Patch office hours and more for Friday.

1. I, your Wayland Patch editor, will be holding office hours at Beyond Beans today from noon to 2 p.m. Stop by during that time to say hello, drop off a news tips or just otherwise talk about Wayland Patch (or Wayland in general, or college football, or really whatever else strikes your fancy). Hope to see you there!

2. The Wayland Concert Series welcomes Luigi Boccia (tenor) and Arthur McManus (piano) tonight for a performance of Italian vocal music from antiquity (arie antiche) through the 20th century. The concert is free, open to the public and will take place at the Wayland High School Auditorium.

3. The girls' varsity swim team competes at the DCL swim championship this afternoon in Sudbury.

4. The noontime book group meets today at the Wayland Public Library. If you've been reading "A Thousand Acres" by Jane Smiley, today's your day to talk it over.

5. Enjoy being outside today -- the weather takes a turn for the cold and snowy beginning tonight and lasting through the weekend. Highs today are expected to reach the upper 40s under a sunny sky, according to Weather.gov.
