Incumbent Selectman Out, Incumbent Rec Commissioners In
Results of Wayland's 2012 Town Election.
Incumbent Sue Pope lost her bid for another term on the Wayland Board of Selectmen as former selectman Doug Leard and local lawyer Ed Collins earned the most votes and captured the two seats up for grabs.
Leard and Collins captured 1,048 and 931 votes, respectively. Pope garnered 882 votes and candidate Chris Brown earned 779 votes.
In the Recreation Commission race, which had four candidates vying for two seats, incumbents Stas Gayshan and Brud Wright came away with the victories, earning 777 and 953 votes, respectively. Challengers Mark Lucier and Gary Carvalho earned 652 and 530 votes, respectively

In the only other contested race, a one-year term on the Housing Authority, Jacqueline Ducharme captured the victory, earning 868 votes to Laurie Hojlo's 678.
A total of 1,945 ballots were cast at the polls with Precinct 1 having the highest number of ballots cast at 551.
