Contractor Expects to Cut Water to Pelham Island Monday

Residents should prepare for water to be off most of the day.

Contractor Michael Brooks has informed town officials that construction crews are tentatively scheduled to temporarily cut water service Monday to about 65 residents affected by the Pelham Island Road bridge project.

The Pelham Island Road bridge over the Sudbury River was closed Feb. 27, 2012, to allow crews to construct a temporary bridge over the river that will carry utlities while the traffic bridge is replaced over the coming months.

In order to complete the transfer of utilities to the temporary bridge, crews need to cut water service. Residents can expect the outage to last from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, March 12.
