5 Things: More Traffic Changes, Planning Ahead and More
Heads up about a change in the traffic patterns on West Plain Street, and we're offering a few reminders to help you plan ahead for what will be closed later this week.
1. Mitchell Street Traffic Restrictions. We mentioned this last week, but it goes into effect TODAY. From 6 a.m.-9 a.m., Mitchell Street will be "Do Not Enter" from West Plain. Officers will be conducting random compliance checks, so don't tempt fate.
2. Voting is On! You have until Wednesday at noon to have your say in who will win our Facebook Cover Photo Contest. Check out the six entries and vote for your favorite by leaving a comment for us.
3. Plan Ahead. The Wayland Town Building and Wayland Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday this week for Thanksgiving. Conduct your town office and library business today or tomorrow.
4. Transfer Station Hours. The Wayland Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, so make your trip today or wait until Saturday.
5. Newsletters. If you aren't getting the Wayland Patch newsletter in your inbox each morning, you're missing out on a simple way to see the latest headlines. Sign up today for daily, weekly or breaking newsletters (or all three!).

I haven't been able to find any information about why Old Connecticut Path has been closed during part of the day since last week. Traffic has been backed up on Route 27 for long periods of time because if this. Thank you.

Hi Debra. There's paving work taking place on Old Conn Path. Here's the story: http://patch.com/A-z84p. When I talked with the highway director Friday, he expected it to tie up the road on Friday, Monday and possibly Tuesday. I haven't heard how that schedule is holding up.
